Improved Remote Support

Troubleshooting computer problems over the phone has its limitations. Sometimes you need to be in front of the screen to fully understand what’s going on. Now with Bomgar, OIT’s new remote support software, Desktop personnel can remotely connect to your computer, view your screen, and activate the mouse and keyboard as if they were there in person. This will allow for faster problem resolution by eliminating the need in many cases for a desk side visit. If Bomgar would help resolve your call, Desktop can talk you through the simple steps of downloading and installing the client software. You can choose to allow shared control of your computer, or view-only access, and you can end the session at any time with the click of your mouse. The software uninstalls itself as soon as the session ends, so your computer cannot be controlled remotely without your knowledge and permission. Bomgar is compatible with both Microsoft Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
